Tigress Tile
Tigress Tile: A collaborative art and design project between lifelong artists and friends Lisa Choinacky and Andrea Christie. When Andrea began working with decals in 2016, she arranged a studio visit with Lisa, to discuss the possibility of translating her ink paintings in to custom decals for ceramics. This meeting led to others, and through this new partnership, they began to paint together in a truly collaborative fashion. The work was passed back and forth, each artist contributing their mark with an inky, black underglaze wash. The process was immediate and intuitive, building layers of abstraction and creating repetition on ceramic tiles and cups.
